Peakhurst Telecommunications Facility – HVAC & Electrical Upgrade
Ryan WIlks has recently completed the Peakhurst telecommunication facility upgrade project. The project is another example of how Ryan Wilks can provide and deliver a complete turnkey project providing services in HVAC, Electrical and Building works.
The project was a design challenge and was required to be completed within the client’s strict timeframe. The Ryan Wilks design and construction team were able to overcome the challenges and make the design suit the existing building conditions and the revised client’s requirements.
PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS
The project involved the supply, installation and commissioning of a new HVAC system comprising of 2 x 89.5kW Temperzone split units complete with associated pipework, new Innotech control system including field sensors and a new mechanical services switchboard and new air conditioning ductwork and grilles to suit the new telecommunication rack suites (2 x “cold” aisle suites and 1 x “hot” aisle suite) for the new telecommunications equipment. The system also comprised of an economy cycle option and relief air to provide energy savings.
As part of the power upgrade, Ryan Wilks provided the installation of a new 800kVA kiosk substation on the property done to Ausgrid’s strict requirements to meet the facilities new power requirements.
The existing standby generator was decommissioned and replaced with a new in room 400kVA standby diesel fuelled generator complete with a 1000L basetank, fuel pump, engine exhaust system and ventiliation sustem..
The existing main switchboard was replaced with a new main switchboard with the old main switchboard modified to become a main distribution board.
As part of the upgrade works, associated cable tray, consumers and submains cabling, generator controls were supplied and installed. The new power system was reticulated and commissioned including AMS alarms.
Other works associated with the project included upgrading of the lighting system and modifications of the existing fire system.
The project was able to be successfully completed by the Ryan Wilks team on time meeting the client’s requirements and highlighting Ryan Wilks proven success in delivering an entire turnkey project.
