Lighting & Electrical Upgrade – Sydney Royal Stables
Located within the iconic Sydney Showground precinct, the Sydney Royal Stables is a venue of significance to
the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW, who are charged with its operation and maintenance. The Sydney
The Royal Stables is a building renowned for its distinctive character and historic charm. The recent lighting and electrical
upgrade project was designed to respect this legacy while bringing the space up to modern performance and
safety standards.
This carefully planned upgrade focused on enhancing the visual appeal of the Stables, improving reliability for
event operations, and ensuring a more energy-efficient environment for years to come.
The lighting system was designed to harmonise with the building’s architectural features. Outdated fittings
were removed, and contemporary LED lighting was introduced, selected not only for their superior energy
performance but also for their ability to complement the historic atmosphere of the venue.
The result is a refined, warm, and functional lighting scheme that supports a wide range of uses while
significantly reducing the risk of technical interruptions.
Beyond lighting, the project included an electrical upgrade. A new distribution board was installed to replace
aging infrastructure, and modern safety mechanisms were introduced to align with the current Australian
Standards.
Every component was implemented with a long-term view, ensuring a future-proof system that supports both
operational needs and compliance.
Throughout the project, careful measures were taken to minimise disruption to the venue’s activities and to
handle the sensitive environment with the utmost respect. All work was completed safely, sustainably, and in
full accordance with relevant building codes and electrical standards
