The QPAC (Queensland Performing Arts Centre) Concert Hall House Lighting Replacement.

Ryan Wilks were engaged by Arts Queensland to undertake an upgrade of the house lighting at the Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) Concert Hall. The project aim was to replace the existing house lighting in the Concert Hall with state-of-the-art, energy-efficient, and technologically advanced lighting fixtures, whilst maintaining compliance with BCA lighting requirements. The intent of the lighting replacement being to increase functionality, reduce the risk of technical failures during shows, and improve human movement throughout the seating areas and transition stairways. The result ensuring smooth, uninterrupted performances, increased reliability and improved access and egress.

Ryan Wilks worked closely with QPAC and Arts Queensland Project Manager to ensure the successful execution of the works safely, to a high standard and within the time constraints required to accommodate the busy events and performance schedule of the Concert Hall at QPAC. Lighting removal, installation of new fittings, integration of the new DMX light controls and verification of lighting level compliance were all undertaken successfully during the limited access windows available with minimal impact to the ongoing operations of the facility.
